Oh Monty, why must this end?

Well, the end is very near...and I am starting to become very depressed over it. The BAM retrospective "That's Montgomery Clift, honey!" is ending within a few days and it is, quite honestly, very painful. However --- this retrospective has been fabulous!!!! Once the retro is completed, I may jot down some more thoughts concerning my experiences watching the films with an audience.

Next up: Wild River, Freud and lastly, The Misfits.

If only this retrospective could have lasted a full month......with multiple days devoted to each film....but I am just so grateful that this retro even came to be!

BAM - "That's Montgomery Clift, honey!"

Beginning March 11th and lasting until March 25th, BAM in New York will be screening 11 Montgomery Clift films!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I apologize for the screaming, but I literally cannot stop screaming with happiness! I've been praying for a retrospective such as this one FOREVER!

The films:
March 11th - The Heiress
March 12th - A Place in the Sun
March 13th - The Young Lions
March 14th - I Confess
March 14th - From Here to Eternity
March 15th - The Big Lift
March 16th - Lonelyhearts
March 18th - Red River
March 22nd - Wild River
March 23rd - Freud
March 25th - The Misfits

Not included in the retrospective are the following films: The Search, Terminal Station (Indiscretion of an American Wife), Raintree County, Suddenly Last Summer, Judgment at Nuremberg, and The Defector.

I do wish each of his films were being screened.....but I do understand why these were not selected. However, some of his best work can be found in The Search, Terminal Station, Suddenly Last Summer and of course, Judgment at Nuremberg.

Nonetheless, the month of March will be an exciting time for all Clift lovers.....I, for one, am counting down the hours until the retrospective begins!! This is an absolute dream come true!!
